Q&A
What are the goals of the training program?
The primary goal is to help each student become an independent and accomplished trader. This is done by structuring the program in a manner that provides you with the tools and knowledge needed to be a consistent and profitable trader. This is not the typical 3 day 'cookie-cutter' approach that is so prevalent in this industry.
Can I use the E-mini contracts with this service?
Absolutely. I trade the Minis myself (ER2 primarily) and believe that they are a better choice than the full contracts. I would also recommend looking at ZB/ZN, Bund/Bobl, QM and the Euro.
Why are you willing to share your methods?
First of all, there are no secrets to trading - either you can read a chart properly or you can't, and most can't. And if you can, either you can execute or you can't, and again most can't. As far as why I offer training I'd say there are four primary reasons. First, I really enjoy teaching and believe I can help those who want to be independent and are willing to spend the time and energy needed to become a successful trader. I also enjoy meeting other people who possess the same passion that I do for trading. The second reason, quite frankly, is to generate additional sources of income outside of my trading. I have a marketable skill and see no problem in taking advantage of this as long as it is structured in a way that creates a Win-Win situation for both myself and each student that enrolls in the training program. Third, teaching helps keep me focused and improves my trading, and fourth, I really enjoy the camaraderie during the day.
Regardless of which methods you use, what are the chances of becoming a successful trader?
SLIM. Learning how to trade requires Time, Humility, an intense Determination to succeed and the necessary Resources/Capital to go through the process. Most people who attempt trading have a serious deficiency in one or more of these areas that just can't be overcome. Combine this with the totally unrealistic expectations they have about trading, and they are in essence defeated before they even begin.
How does your methodology deal with the recent volatility?
This is partly a function of a trader's personality, but the methodology works well in ANY environment and in any timeframe. From my standpoint there is nothing more fun than trading one of the Euro's wild reversal days because I love volatility. While it is true that your risk on an individual trade can be greater when it's really volatile, the risk/reward ratio actually improves, and that is what counts.
Are trading simulators beneficial?
Trading simulators can shorten the learning process and are significantly better than paper trading, but you'll never learn how to trade on one. Developing trading skills requires behavior modification - breaking bad habits and forming good ones - and in order for that to happen you need rewards for good behavior and consequences for bad behavior. But there are no rewards/consequences with play money so therefore you can't modify behavior. Simulators can also be dangerous because they can exacerbate existing bad habits along with creating new ones. I recommend using them though, but you need to be very careful with them.

Required Regulatory Reading
NFA REGULATIONS REQUIRE DISCLOSURE OF THE FACT THAT WHILE THESE METHODS MAY HAVE WORKED IN THE PAST, PAST RESULTS ARE NOT NECESSARILY INDICATIVE OF FUTURE RESULTS. WHILE THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR PROFITS THERE IS ALSO A RISK OF LOSS. A LOSS INCURRED IN CONNECTION WITH TRADING FUTURES CONTRACTS CAN BE SIGNIFICANT. YOU SHOULD THEREFORE CAREFULLY CONSIDER WHETHER SUCH TRADING IS SUITABLE FOR YOU IN LIGHT OF YOUR FINANCIAL CONDITION SINCE ALL SPECULATIVE TRADING IS INHERENTLY RISKY AND SHOULD ONLY BE UNDERTAKEN BY INDIVIDUALS WITH ADEQUATE RISK CAPITAL.
